The possibility of coriander seed disinfection with the essential oil of peppermint

Seed health testing aims to ensure a healthy crop and prevent the spread of plant diseases. The need study apply both essential oils extracts against seed diseases is growing becoming more important. Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) an annual herbaceous, aromatic, spicy medicinal from Apiaceae family, known for its seeds with characteristic pleasant odour. In human medicine, coriander part various medicines treatment digestive organs. Phytopathogenic fungi bacteria are most common significant causes disease. aim this was assess investigate possibility disinfection using peppermint (Mentha x piperita) oil. examined by filter paper laboratory standard method. Different concentrations (1, 2, 5 10%) oil were used disinfection. composition determined gas chromatographic analysis. results analysis showed presence fungus after seven days incubation in humid chamber at room temperature. identified as Alternaria sp. (sect. Alternaria) based on symptoms macroscopic microscopic features (on potato dextrose agar). Immersion infected reduced seeds. highest disease inhibition, 69,33%, namely 58,93% without influence emulsifier, shown solution 5%.
